God...what are you up to...

hey guys...
so week2 in nakama...
a whirlwind of a year...whoa...

so last week...
i was going to talk on journaling, you know the drill. the whole spiritual food, yeah, you know it.
so the first talk of the year, start it up right, get people reading. what better thing to talk about...
i talk it over w/ my #2 guy and he says...i dont know about that...
he says, i thought it was your idea to talk about God's word every week...i thought that was what you wanted to do, why you started this...and isnt that why these people are coming, isnt that why these people see something, hear something and are getting saved...
whoa...
how convicting...yeah
so ok, im meeting w/ the girl whos gonna be translating for me (this is last thurs) for the talk last sat...shes reading the notes for sat and i tell her, i think im gonna be changing the talk, and she says...i was gonna tell you, you know, im not sure about what youre writing...HAH
so i change it...and it doesnt stop there
the next day, this last sunday, rob...hes talking in his message on sunday how hes not here to make church a business, not here to do altar calls and count how many people raise their hands, hes here to spread God's love...whoa
and isnt that what nakamas vision/main theme is...
and last week, so i started this informal get-together w/ 4 other guys talking about any questions they might have...anything, and one of the guys after we're done says to me, hey you know i really appreciate the way you led this discussion and how we sorta agreed to read jonah together, cuz you know i really get turned off when churches tell you that you have to read the bible...HAH
so all this to say, i was so stoked to have changed the talk and after so many people came up to me saying how great it was...talked about the Good Samaritan

so tonight
this guy was going to give a testimony, i was gonna translate for him and he was gonna translate my talk...only to find out he came down w/ the flu
today marked the 14th year of the hanshin earthquake, i knew bc my friend at the seminary asked me if we were going to have a special service, i said no, thought about it though, just maybe pray for it, but i asked my #2 guy and he said well, if i had personally experienced it, it might be ok, but since not, then maybe just let it go...sounded reasonable
then tonight, one of the girls came up to me and asked if we were gonna have a time of prayer for the people that experienced the earthquake...so i asked her if she can lead us in prayer at the end and it turned out great
so back to my translator, i was out my testimony which is fine, gives me more time to talk, but i needed a translator and my usual translator was nowhere to be found...but there was a guy that emailed me last week...came to nakama for the first time but felt like he wanted to commit to it and asked if he could translate...he was there, so i asked him and...well, he really appreciated that he was given a chance to try it out. i thought it was just really cool how that all worked out

so whats God up to
