a week back

wow...ok
its been a week since ive been back and hm...it still feels very surreal...as if for 3 weeks i was in a time warp
it happens to me every vacation but when i come back everyone that stayed behind is pretty much the same, we still have the same jobs, still in our everyday routine...but for me...it was lifechanging to say the least
these place names in the bible are not just in some faraway fantasy world, but these are real places in real life in a real world
there actually IS an israel, there actually is a city that is jerusalem and there are people living there with normal lives and everyday worries just like us. they have seasons and when i went it was hot, and this is not your ordinary hot. like today was hot, but its scorching there. youre out in the sun for one second and you are seriously roasting as some of you have noticed by the color of my skin when i came back. the funny thing is when im there i didnt really notice it that much...
so places become real and the weather becomes real as well. we read psalm 23 on the mountain/hill of the herodian which is one of the 3 palaces of king herod but it was hot! we were overlooking the plains and you can see the hill of bethlehem in the distance. you can just imagine/picture david as a shepherd boy leading/guiding his sheep in this desert heat and looking for any source of water/shade/grass and it becomes real. its not just some fairy tale that you read as a kid like dr.seuss

theres just oh so much going on right now...somehow its on the list and itll be done, but when, well, i guess it might get posted on the blog we made for our bible study
