Kyoto and Kyoko

If you look carefully you will notice that in the foreground are rows and rows of gravestones. Behind this temple in Kyoto was a graveyard that spanned up this hill and this is a picture taken from the top of the hill looking down on Kyoto city.

On our way back to town we saw this nice Japanese restaurant in Gion, but since the prices were so high, this is the best we could do, to take a picture of the back yard through the gate. One day...

Then, it was back to Laura's for homemade sushi party. Tomo provided the ingredients and we provided the rest.

We have a shuttle that picks us up at the train station to take us to church on Sundays and here I am in the shuttle on the way to church talking to my friend when the girl sitting next to her turns around and asks me for my name, so I tell her Dave, and she continues to ask me for my last name, so I tell her Kajiwara and she freezes momentarily and with a look of surprise reaches for her purse and pulls out this name card with my name on it!
Apparently, as the story goes, she just went to New Hope last weekend to get baptized and there in Hawaii met up with Pastor (Uncle) Jon and he gives Kyoko his card and tells her to look me up when she gets back to Kobe!
